George serves as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Operating Officer for Landscape Capital Management and its affiliates. George has over twenty-five years of financial and operational experience in both public and private companies. Prior to joining Landscape in 2015, George was the North American Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer for over seven years at Graff Diamonds, a global luxury retailer. George graduated from Pace University with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
Josh manages the full life cycle development of trading strategies, including idea generation, backtesting, analysis, and implementation. He built the backtesting and research engine that serves as Landscape's platform for strategy research. In addition, he focuses on portfolio management and strategy allocation along with the other Co-CIOs and CRO. Prior to joining Landscape, Josh spent seven years at Bridgewater Associates as the senior analyst on the portfolio construction team, where he developed new risk controls, portfolio construction methodologies, and trade optimization algorithms. Before transitioning to finance, he worked as an electrical engineer in the medical device and defense industries. Josh holds an M.B.A. from the NYU Stern School of Business with a specialization in Quantitative Finance, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
Jon is responsible for strategy development and implementation, with an emphasis on high-touch aspects of the process. He specializes in trading strategies that, while quantitatively themed, cannot be fully automated, and require human oversight. On the development side, he focuses on nontraditional data sets, especially those with lexical and non-numeric components. Prior to Landscape, Jon was a successful professional advantage gambler. In addition, he was one of the most celebrated players in the history of “Magic: The Gathering,” including records for top 8 appearances and lifetime winnings. He was both the 2000 U.S. National and World Champion, and captained the US Team, which won the team portion of the World Championships that year. Jon has a B.A. in English from Rutgers University and is the subject of the book Jonny Magic and the Card Shark Kids by David Kushner (Random House, 2005).
Kirk’s primary responsibilities include model review, risk management, and best execution. Kirk also contributes to the execution and reporting code development process, as well as portfolio management. Prior to Landscape, Kirk co-managed the largest blackjack card counting team in the United States. Kirk’s professional history also includes having spent time as an equity options market maker on the American Stock Exchange. Kirk graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Phil. in Physics.
Mike develops and oversees several strategies as a co-CIO, including the closed-end fund, dual-share-class and SPAC programs. He also developed most of Landscape's proprietary trade operations and P/L attribution platform. He also supervises Landscape's relationships with its execution and prime brokers, and serves on the board of Landscape Offshore HL Fund Ltd along with two outside directors. Mike’s career has included risk management roles at Bankers Trust and American Skandia, and P/L responsibility for municipal bond and derivatives programs at Aegon Institutional Markets. Mike holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard and is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
Jenny received a BSc (2002) in Computer Science from Columbia University. She then earned an MSc (2004) and PhD (2010) in Computer Science from Stanford University, where she was a member of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab and her research focused on machine learning and natural language processing. After this she did post-doctoral research at MIT. During her academic career she co-authored 17 peer-reviewed papers. She then returned to the Bay Area where she led multiple engineering teams building machine learning-based products and features in the news and analytics domains.
Jorge works on research and development of new trading strategies,including idea generation, backtesting, analysis and implementation. Prior to joining Landscape, Jorge’s experience in the financial industry spanned over 16 years. Jorge worked as a quant portfolio manager and researcher at hedge funds and for over 10 years at Goldman Sachs where he worked as the global quant equities and volatility portfolio manager in the alternatives investment group, the trader responsible for Goldman’s central risk book, and a trader in the proprietary quantitative trading group. Jorge holds a Ph.D. and a M.Phil. in finance and economics from Columbia University Business School, an MBA and a MEE from Rice University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Tecnologico de Monterrey.
Fred is an Operations Manager with extensive experience in operations and compliance in the hedge fund industry. At Landscape, Fred is primarily responsible for the daily operations process and management of prime broker reconciliations. He also contributes to compliance and accounting functions at the firm. Before joining Landscape, he worked at Indus Capital Partners for six years in its compliance department. Prior to working at Indus, Fred held various operational and management positions at Prudential Financial, Bear Stearns and JPMorgan.
Xiaoxiang works on the development and implementation of several trading strategies. Prior to joining Landscape, he was a research analyst at Barclays, where he worked on systematic strategies in the equity derivative space and published weekly research notes. Before Barclays, Xiaoxiang was part of the multi-asset team at AllianceBernstein, where he worked closely with several portfolio managers to develop and implement systematic strategies using equity derivatives and multi-factor models. Xiaoxiang graduated from NYU Courant Institute with an M.S. in Mathematical Finance, and from Washington and Lee University with a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics. Xiaoxiang is a CFA® charterholder.
Genci is a part-time Staff Accountant. He is attending Rutgers University graduating in 2025. At Landscape, he is primarily responsible for accounting data input, analysis, accounts payable and reconciliation.
Alan is a Systems Developer with extensive experience in systems development and programming, specifically in the hedge fund industry. His primary responsibility is the ongoing development of the proprietary platform on which all of Landscape's operations are conducted. Prior to Landscape, Alan worked at The Clinton Group for nearly twenty years in various capacities with a multitude of responsibilities within the technical and operations groups.
